Early Life and Education
So-yeon Kim, also known as Kim So-yeon, was born on November 2, 1980 in Seoul, South Korea. She graduated from Kyung Hee University with a degree in Theater and Film.
Kim made her acting debut in 1994, appearing in the drama series “Tomorrow Love” at the age of 14. She continued to appear in small roles in various dramas and films throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s.
In 2005, Kim received her first leading role in the drama series “All About Eve.” She played the character of Jung-yeon, a driven and ambitious news anchor who competes with her best friend for success in the industry.
Rise to Fame
Kim’s breakthrough role came in 2009 when she played the antagonist in the drama series “IRIS.” She portrayed the character of Choi Seung-hee, a skilled agent who becomes a terrorist in order to avenge her father’s death.
