Early Life and Education

Bo-young Lee was born on January 12, 1989 in South Korea. She graduated from Gyeonggi Girls’ High School and later attended Konkuk University, where she studied Korean language and literature.


Bo-young Lee made her acting debut in the 2003 short film “Equal”. She then went on to appear in several television dramas, including “New Tales of Gisaeng”, “My Daughter Seo-young”, and “You’re All Surrounded”. In 2007, she gained widespread recognition for her role in the popular drama “The King and I”, for which she won the Best New Actress award at the MBC Drama Awards.

In 2012, Lee starred in the film “Architecture 101”, which became a box office hit in South Korea and earned her critical acclaim. She also won the Best Actress award at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards for her performance in the film.

In 2015, Lee was cast in the leading role of the drama “Oh My Venus”, which received high ratings and positive reviews. She then starred in the drama “Whisper” in 2017, which also proved to be a success.

Personal Life

Lee is known for being private about her personal life. She has been in a long-term relationship with actor Ji Sung, whom she met while filming “Save the Last Dance for Me” in 2004. The couple married in 2013 and have two children together.


Lee is actively involved in various charitable activities. In 2017, she donated 100 million won to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation to help children with leukemia.
